The 2017 World Amateur Golfers Championship (WAGC) Team USA national tournament was held August 3rd-5th at International and Country Club courses at Omni Orlando Resort in Champions Gate, FL.

Golfers from across the United States played the International course on Thursday (August 3rd), the Country Club course on Friday, and the International course again on Saturday. The winners will represent Team USA at the World Championship in Malaysia November 18-25th.

Flight winners:

John Duval – Flight # 1 (Plus to 5)

Chad Schuchmann – Flight #2 (6 to 10)

Gina Gillman – Flight #3 (11- to 15)

Marcel Sow – Flight #4 (16 to 20)

Adam Reynolds – Flight #4 (21 to 25)

Carlos Gonzalez – Player of the Year

There were tight matches throughout the tournament. Chad Schuchmann came from behind to take the Flight #2 win on the inward 9. Adam Reynolds and MIchael Murphy were neck and neck until Murphy took a 9 with two holes to go giving Reynolds the win. Fight #4 had to be determined in a playoff. Marcel Sow and Carmen Holewinski were tied at the end of the final round. They were still tied after the first playoff hole, but Sow took the win with a par on the International course hole #2 Par 3 by sinking a 10′ putt.

The 2017 – 2018 season began immediately following the national finals.
